About 4 m

4 m (around 70 MHz) behaves much like 6 m: sporadic-E in summer, meteor scatter, tropo and aurora. Es needs a higher MUF than on 6 m, so openings are rarer and shorter, but when the ionosondes show an Es MUF above 70 MHz the band can be wide open.

The band is not allocated in every country, and the allowed segments differ, so check your licence. FT8 is common around 70.154 MHz and the FM/SSB calling frequency is 70.200 MHz in many countries.
